Editorial policy
Last updated 23 October 2026.
People use QoraDaily to make decisions about their money, so accuracy matters more to us than speed. This page explains how we gather news, build our tools and data, and correct mistakes.
Accuracy and sources
- We take figures from the original source wherever we can: laws and revenue authorities for tax, central banks for interest rates and Treasury bills, regulators for fuel prices, and fund managers for money market fund yields.
- When we rely on a secondary source, such as a reputable accounting firm, a newspaper or a data compiler, we name it, and we look for a second source for important figures.
- Each data page and calculator shows the date its figures were last checked and links to its sources.
- When sources disagree, we say so or leave the figure out until we can confirm it.
Calculators and data
- Each calculator follows the rules as written by the relevant authority and explains its method on the page.
- Before publishing, we test each calculator against worked examples from the authority or a reputable adviser.
- We review tax calculators after every budget or change in the law, and rate tables on a regular schedule (weekly for Treasury bills and money market funds, monthly for fuel prices).
- Calculators give estimates for typical situations. Each one says what it does not cover.
News aggregation
- We choose publishers with a record of reliable business and financial reporting.
- We show a headline and a short summary with the publisher's name, and link to the original article. Full stories stay on the publisher's site.
- We do not change publishers' headlines except to shorten them or remove formatting.
- Publishers can ask to be removed at any time.
Guides and articles
- Our guides explain how things work in plain language, list their sources at the end, and are dated. We update them when the rules change.
- We may use software tools, including AI tools, to help research and draft content. Everything we publish is checked against its sources before it goes live, and we are responsible for it.
- Opinion, where we publish it, is clearly labelled.
Independence and advertising
- Advertisers and sponsors have no influence over our news selection, data, rankings or calculator results.
- Rankings, such as money market fund yields, are ordered by the published figures and cannot be bought.
- Advertising and sponsored content are always labelled.
Corrections
If we get something wrong, we correct it as quickly as we can. For significant errors in a figure or a calculation, we update the page and its "last checked" date, and note the correction where it affects what readers may have relied on. To report an error, email info@qoradaily.com with the page address and what you believe is wrong, and we will get back to you.
Not advice
Our content is general information, not financial, tax, investment or legal advice. For decisions about your own money, speak to your bank, fund or a qualified adviser.
