Money in Singapore today
The Monetary Authority of Singapore's interest rate, the latest inflation figure and what the Singapore dollar is worth today, with what they mean for your savings and loans.
What is happening
Singapore does not set an interest rate. MAS manages the Singapore dollar against a basket of currencies, and on 14 October 2026 it left that policy band unchanged after tightening in April and July. Headline inflation was 2.2% in September and core inflation eased to 2.0%.
What it means for you
- Savers: with inflation at 2.2%, look for savings that pay more than that after tax.
- Borrowers: bank lending rates and variable-rate loans follow the central bank.
- Prices: inflation of 2.2% means something that cost 1,000 a year ago costs about 1,022 now.
